    Dogflud Car Park and Green Parking closed

    May 2018
    These car parks have been closed in order to enclose the construction site.

    Public footpaths diverted

    Summer 2018
    The footpath between Sainsbury’s car park and the former tennis courts closed in June 2018. This path will reopen when work is complete in 2022.

    The footpath leading from South Street to the Leisure Centre was permanently closed in July 2018, and new pathways will be created within the scheme.

    Borelli Walk closed in August 2018 for the construction access bridge to be installed safely. It will reopen in January 2019 and close again for the bridge to be removed in 2022.

    Archaeological digs completed

    Summer 2018
    Before the construction work started, archaeological digs took place in the site. Nothing of historical significance was discovered, thus allowing construction to continue.

    Hoarding installed around site

    Summer 2018
    Formal hoarding is being installed in phases around the whole site. The full plan for this can be accessed on the Waverley Borough Council planning portal: www.waverley.gov.uk

    Construction of temporary bridge

    Summer 2018
    Work has completed on building the temporary bridge for construction traffic.

    Construction of the main scheme begins

    Spring 2019
    Construction work is expected to begin in early 2019 upon completion of the bridge. Works will commence with the multi-story car park and the residential units.

    Highway works in Farnham Town Centre

    Autumn 2019
    Work will begin on improving levels of traffic in the town and the part-pedestrianisation of East Street, this includes the reconfiguration of the Woolmead loop road. These works will be done in phases to minimise disruption.

    Housing completed

    Spring 2021 – Spring 2022
    Between May 2021 and May 2022 the residential aspects of the scheme will be completed. The phased opening means that some apartments may be ready to buy off-plan as early as December 2020.

    Retail centre and town square opening

    Spring 2021
    The majority of the retail and leisure elements of the scheme are due to be completed by early 2021, and open for business soon after.

    Reel cinema opening

    Summer 2021
    Reel Cinemas is one of the largest independent cinema operators in the UK, and the new six-screen cinema is expected to open during the summer of 2021.

    Removal of temporary bridge

    Summer 2022
    Construction access from the A31 is set to close and works will begin to remove the temporary bridge. At this stage, the final landscaping plan of the area will be established.

    Brightwells Yard is complete!

    Autumn 2022
    The final works of the regeneration scheme include the installation of a footbridge over the River Wey, to complete the network of footpaths from East Street to Borelli Walk.
