Read the pdf – South Street Overnight Works Notification Letter

Dear Residents & Local Businesses,

F M Conway will be carrying out night resurfacing works in South Street, Farnham on 21st & 22nd October 2021.

To facilitate this work South Street will be closed between the junctions of Victoria Road and Brightwell Street. There will be no access onto Victoria Road from South Street, local diversions will be in place with a temporary two-way traffic arrangement in place on Victoria Road. Marshals will be in attendance to assist with access onto Brightwells Road and any other essential access. Temporary traffic signals will in place on South. Street at the junction of The Borough and East Street. A temporary two-way traffic flow will in place on South Street between the temporary traffic signals and our road closure. Pedestrian access will be available throughout, although care should be taken as large site vehicles will be in attendance.

All road closures and diversions will be in place from 08:OOpm on Thursday 21st October & Friday 22nd October and reopen from 06:OOam the following morning.

Please note these dates/timings could be subject to changes due to performance and weather.

Work will initially consist of the existing road surface being taken or ‘planed’ off, with a new surface then re-laid, with the ‘planing’ being the noisier element. We anticipate all noisy work to be completed by 11:00pm, with only deliveries of new materials after that.

As this is a major road, which is extremely busy in the daytime, there is no option but to carry out this work at night, but we are mindful of residents and the impact on the town centre, visitors and businesses.

We will endeavour to keep noise to a minimum as far as possible. We sincerely apologise for any disruption during this period.

Please note – When driving on newly laid road surfaces the materials used could transfer to your vehicle’s tyres. The residue of which could transfer to paths and drives.

Should you have any questions regarding these works please do not hesitate to contact F M Conway’s public/residents liaison officer, employed on this scheme, she will be happy to help either by email helen.mcconnell@fmconway.co.uk or mobile 07917518529.

Yours Sincerely Public Liaison Officer F M Conway.
