In October, construction progressed well across Brightwells Yard with a focus on developing the foundations and basements in most of the buildings.
At the Marlborough Head, foundations within the existing basement were strengthened and the building is now ready for its next stage of construction.
Just behind the Marlborough Head sits D14, which will become one of the site’s commercial units, and is in the process of having its second floor created alongside the casting of columns to support it. D1, the next unit along – consisting of retail with residential blocks above it – is also having its second-floor slab and support columns cast. Building work on the final level will soon be underway, with the roof slab to be installed shortly.
Towards the centre of the development is D8 – home to Reel Cinema and a multi-storey car park – where work is continuing to progress well with the basement and ground level starting to take shape.
The basements of the main residential blocks near the River Wey have been dug, with the concrete flooring now being put in place.
Over at D20 – the building which will house M&S Simply Food and the residential units that will sit on top – the outer basement walls are now in place and foundations are being built.
